The Edge of the World

Leaning over a table with the map stretched across, every explorer has questioned the sea that expands in all directions. Two large continents floating in an endless ocean? Unlikely. One needs only look up into the abyss above to know that there is more out there. But no one returns from explorations; no one brings news of anything beyond the water. Sure, a small island here, and another over there, but nothing bigger. No edge. It must exist, but no one has been there and back.

Geography

For years, speculation existed about the nature of the plane Rhina. Most assumed she was shaped roughly like a ship, with clouds acting as a sail while the plane carried them through The Sea. This could imply a V-shape of the plane, where the edge of the world would be higher than the rest. By observing distant objects, especially at sea where hills do not confound, this was found to be unlikely. As ships sailed far away from the coast, they did not rise into the sky. Oceans appeared perfectly flat as far as the eye could see, and ships stayed right atop it. This led to the assumption of a flat bottom for a Rhina-ship. In either case, there was an edge of the world, and it was waiting to be discovered.

Localized Phenomena

Many believe they must have be close to reaching the edge of the world. The further one sails, the harsher the currents become. All currents slowly flow together, then grow in strength quickly when followed. Mist coats the ocean as the currents gain strength, progressing to a thick fog. Sailors go in expecting to come out, but usually get turned around and lost in the fog forever.   As increased evidence that Rhina is flat, all currents seem to radiate generally away from Dae. This naturally leads to the conclusion that the continent is at the center of the plane, and the currents are pulling water off the edge.   Explorers who wish to survive turn back when they see the currents rush away from known land. All boats that have gotten sucked into that current are missing. They are presumed dead, most likely dragged off the edge of the world.

History

Contact with other planes is seemingly impossible from Rhina. It is well known that Thi created many, many planes. Unless every single other plane besides Rhina, Ghsiar, and Osupa were killed in The Saefi War, then they are out there somewhere. The edge of the world is believed to be the best chance at contacting other planes. The leading theory is that beyond the mist and currents, the atmosphere of Rhina no longer blocks communication. Perhaps one could even see the other planes from the edge.
