Petanter Ceremony
The Skolkog tribe is a tribe of Centaur that live in the Frozen Plains. Unlike most Frigidfolk civilizations though, the Skolkog tribe puts literature on an especially high pedestal. They value the art of poetry more than they do combat, hunting and craftsmanship. For this reason, the Coming of Age ceremony for the Skolkog tribe - the Petanter - is different from most. The centaur becoming an adult makes a trip alone to Poet's Lake which in and of itself is dangerous especially since it's mandatory to make the trip all by yourself. When one does get to Poet's lake though they are to be inspired by the lake, their surroundings and their trip here and are to write a sonnet about the trip, the thoughts they have, the surroundings or even just of their tribe and then they are to come back to show their sonnet to their tribe.
History
One of the first chiefs of Skolkog, who also was the one who sparked the interest in poetry for her tribe for years to come - Laodia told her tribe that she'd be going on a spiritual journey in search of inspiration for her poetry as she hadn't been able to write anything for a while, having nothing to inspire her. She adventured in search of something interesting, breathtaking, something she hadn't seen before that could inspire her poetry. That was exactly what the Poet's lake was. She was extremely inspired and it is rumoured that she wrote over 200 works about the lake and surrounding area in a span of less than a week. Once she came back to her tribe she shared her work and the poetry was extremely well received. This made many want to go see this breathtaking lake for all of its beauty. Ever since then, the coming of age ritual has existed.
