The Graveyard of Lying Gods

Octavius muttered a prayer as he stared down into the valley floor. Large pieces of what one may mistake as buildings reached towards the skys above like corpses buried in a landslide. Octavius realized that was not an analogy, that was fact. The dead false gods lay valley created by their hubris. Their corpses now forming a vast network of defied temples and forgotten horrors.
Octavius was a season Commander-Baron, his aged features failing to hide his still formidable athletic capabilities. He traveled across the world and witnessed his fair share of foreboding places. He was by no means timid, but even he was hesitant to chase the slavers into this valley. He looked to his troops. The mercenaries were arrayed behind him, the company still appered a formidable sight, despite their haggard appearance, but Octavius knew better. His men were wary about this place. They, like him were all raised on the tales from this cursed land and even his most season warriors shifted anxiously. Despite his fears, he couldn't turn back. For one, he was being paid, and two he hated slavers, especially raptor slavers. The group they were hunting were a particularly nasty bunch. The bastards took a morbid pleasure in leaving children or weaklings skewered on pikes as a message for any would be heros. Sins like that need to be answered. With a motion he ordered his men to descend into the valley.

  • Geography

    Outer Valley

The Faith's Barrer mountain encircles the valley's circumference. The Valley itself as a diameter of 200 miles and a circumference of 300 Miles. The sloppes down towards the valley proper are relatively normal for such an usual area. The only strange thing about them is the vegetation and terrain varies from mountain to mountain, reflecting a varaity of biomes and ecosystems found around the world. These slopes are home to the majority of the valley's population. The few villages and fortifications in this region are home to hardy folk or disciplined armies, fore even the valley's edge's are not for the weak of spirit.

    Field of Angles

The first region within the valley proper is known as the "The Field of Angles". This 'region' rings around the base of the mountains and houses the least of it's horrific properties. To the distant observer the golden rolling fields and lush orchard's appear to be grown around an ancient battlefield. Corpses, siege engines, destroyed fortifications and ancient cities are over grown by nature. However, the combatant's are nothing like the relics from ancient history. The twisted and enigmatic corpses of false angles litter the fields of these battles along side their mortal followers. The cities and castles of this area are filled with indescribable shapes and unnamed legends.

    Steppes of False Legends

Four forts and 10 villages dot the steppes into the upper valley, each an ancient home or hamlet to false heroes. At the crest of each cardinal direction there are gates and passage ways into the inner valley.

    Inner Valley

    Tombs of Lesser Prophets

The six false religions built moments to their prophets. These massive city shrines the homes of millions of their former inhabitants. Each rests on a ridge, its secrets waiting to be unlocked by brave or foolish adventures.

    Corpses of Fallen Gods

The valley descends from the four ridges into an amalgamation of terrain. The terrain ranges from seemingly normal geographic features to limbs or other eldritch objects sprouting from the ground. Don't be fooled. Each piece of terrain, cave, or object was once a god, and life still flows through those old veins, along with power only matched by the true lord's.
