The Treaty to End the 300 Year War

For over three hundred years a war has been raging between The Artwinian Empire and The Gremeliam Empire. Over the centuries there have been many truces and armistices that would sometimes last for years always wound up being temporary and hundreds of thousands have died as a result of the fighting. After three hundred years of slaughtering one another, the Holy Ornithian Emperor called for a stop to the war on both sides. In fact, The Ornithian Empire was so tired of all the fighting that they threatened to stop trading with both empires at their own economic peril if the two heads of state did not agree to talk.
Even though the truce has lasted, there still exists a bitter rivalry between the two peoples of the two nations. However the geopolitical results of the treaty proved to be enormous. A cease to the fighting allowed both empires to focus their resources into expanding further south, and trade flourished. The treaty also came just in time for the Sinkholes of the Northeast to start appearing in the northern regions of both empires. It has been suggested that if the two nations were still fighting the Hallow Bugs would have presented much more of a significant threat.

Purpose

The purpose was to put an end to the constant fighting between the two nations. Instead they agreed to focus their resources on expanding into now available land in Kellumlund and assisting one another in marching south. Along with the armistices came a trade treaty that would help facilitate the longevity of the truce.
