The Forbade Archanum
First created in 2000 ASD by the Syndicate and Valian joint rule, it listed a large number of things deemed too powerful or potent for use. This included:
The Mora Flame - Said to be the most powerful Mora Coil creation ever found by living souls, it is a deadly creature embodiment into chaos and destruction. Said to be a brutal thing capable of mass death, its power demands so much strength that nobody living (except maybe Dractocl himself, God of the Astoari) Stolen by Komor of Raviollon during the Skelmor Crisis, and it conspires to tempt Komor with the power to open a portal into the Mora where it can escape.
The Momenticari Sphere: The most powerful legacy left behind from the First Ones, the beetle inside carries a venom so potent it can rot a world. Literally. The only thing on the List that is Grade 5, it is so rigorously controlled that even Valia itself is forbidden from using them, except in the most serious circumstances. For good reason, the spheres were kept under lock and key under the most deadly protection to man or Valiankind. Only the First One amersteel metal can prevent Momenticari venom, and even then it is not permament. The beetle lives off its own poison as a life source, and therefore was designed to be virtually immortal. While the venom requires the beetle to bite for its full destructive effects, the poison itself is extremely potent, capable of overwhelming even Geomander venom reinforced with alchemy, and a single thimble of undiluted (you cannot dilute the Momenticari venom) poison melted fifty square feet of tower, brick, flesh and magic itself. It is by a Grade 5 offence (punishable by association) to even touch the sphere in any form, unless you are one of the few Experts who have qualified to watch over it. Even then, it is heavily sanctioned. You cannot create or mix it with anything!
Blomancy: the most vile and deadly of all magical arts, it is also perhaps the most damaging, but on an emotional and mental side. In talks between Syndicate and Ascentian officials to upgrade the art to Grade 5 for its sheer potency. It was a human’s way of trying to access the Mora in a way a Valian can, for humans are greatly limited (in most cases) of what they can do with their magic. Blomancy was known in some form by the Valian Expedition that went to Harloph, where it is rumored the only Unborn was created in the East. (Karasu).
In order for blomacy to occur, sorcerers must form a deadly ritual in which an unborn child must be dead (or dying) to create, for great stress for the foetus is necessary to further the chances of success. This often leads to the death of the mother, usually when violent forces in the Mora rip either the mother or the baby apart. It is a devastating ritual that invokes massive amounts of stress and sorcery into the dead or dying child, transforming it into a repressed creature of massive power. It is said Unborn are on a power level of high tier Valian sorcerers, although the power ceiling of magic in Rengar is relative to different factors, often personal inner strength and capability to deal with pain. Blomancy is just a way of trying to cirsumtransing those major flaws of magic. An Unborn is a rotting, failed human being forcibly resurrected to life solely from magic. Once reborn, their self will slowly tear itself apart from its own power, desperate to become one with the Mora again. True Unborn (those who have mastered their abilities) can even voluntairily split their soul from their bodies to escape, their true, immature form and inhabit another body. Eventually however, all Unborn are reduced to shadows of humanity and greed, their bodies rotting from the inside out until a lifetime of purgatory remains. Extremely violent and dangerous.
Messeah: Another Grade Four, this should technically be Grade 5, but most do not even dare summon one. These powerful, sentinent beings of the Mora watch over the dead, but can be convicned from their internal workings to work for you in exchange for life to feed on. They are some of the most potent creatures of all kind, with the power to wipe out whole divisions. During the events of the Last Moment in Harloph, a single summoned Messeah wiped out over one hundred soldiers in the few minutes it was alive. Its summoning is greatly frowned down upon and against because of the huge mortal cost to give up in exchange for its contract, only for a few minutes of use. A monster not to be trifled with, but its arrival in the living realm is extremely rare, with fewer then a dozen instances in which it is possible.
The Dragons of Verouda: Another Grade Four, and one enforced by Beruno. Dragons in Rengar are extremely rare, only coming from the vast underground realm of Verouda. Very solitary, the dragons are little more then immature lizards at first, taking centuries to evolve. However, in a historic pact between Dractocl, god of dragons, and Beruno, the human city state is perhaps the most powerful nation in Uldur thanks to its massive dragon lottery. What is funny to note is that only dragon eggs are forbidden to trade, while Dragon bone/hide/scale/organs/blood is perfectly allowed. Dractocl believed it would be amusing to see how the dragon existence could do as a trading source. Dragon Eggs are forbidden by all laws to be traded between anybody, with huge punishments. Beruno keeps control of its assets very seriously.
Geomander venom: Grade 3, it is seen by many as the most powerful natural substance in Uldur. Salvaged by the dangerous but docile Geomander lizard, it is an acid-emerald color that smells of petrol, and immediately burns on contact. Geomander venom is permitted for use in sanctioned progress, but only in rigorous controlled practices. Has to be diluted within 50% in order to be allowed for sale or use. Geomander venom is very valuable because of rarity and its use in many things like assassination, poison, warfare, medicine and even food (yes, food).
WIP as always. Plenty to add!
First created in the Second Century of the Blood: A period of war between mankind and Valia after the disappearance of The First Ones.
