Wente

This giant landmass took up much of the northern hemisphere. It was known for its deserts in the south and frigid mountains in the north with fields in between: overall, a bitter, treeless, and cruel environment full of fascinating flora and fauna and many diverse peoples living in relative harmony. The strongest of these were the famous Abebi, a nomadic nation tens of thousands of people strong who helped sort of conflicts and protected the land from enemies. (Major language: Debshul, only spoken)   The peoples of Wente were generally very peaceful, but they were also the strongest magic users of the world and were unstoppable if pushed to battle. They were the only ones capable of curbing the Mondopullarians’ conquests. They were generally isolationist, so they didn’t exactly go to bat for any of the other countries under attack, so the Isles and Jubar spited them for that—obviously, the Mondopullarians feared and hated Wente.   Wase (Wah-zay) Halad in the northeast was originally mainly a group of southern Wente who sailed further south, while the Umi (oo-mee) in the southwest had come to Bdali from the Isles through Jubar. True Wente often traded with Bdalin and sorted out differences between the two Halad after they formed their religion but disagreed on a major principle and split into two branches.   There has been zero contact to or from Wente since the Deepening. The Bdalin mourn their loss; the others don’t care much either way.
