Remaining World

Once upon a time, this was a place where people trusted the corners of the map and knew the monsters drawn in blank spaces were nothing but imagination.   Then came the waves.   Legend has it there was only one moon before then. That there were great cities hundreds of thousands of souls strong. That wars were waged by millions for glory, gold, and gods, not each day for survival. That fresh water was not rare enough to be currency.   One thing is for sure, now that the waves have stopped, the tide grows but by small degrees, and humanity holds on by a thread: the monsters that rose with the waters are anything but imagined.
