Jura Academy Uprising

The Jura Academy, which was founded during New Zealandia's First Magical Renaissance, was a prestigious boarding school in New Palea for over a century, until the students organised a bloody uprising.   Due to the building's secluded location, no-one outside of the school knew that the uprising had taken place until after the students had declared victory. By then, most of the teachers had been beheaded, and the rest of the staff either captured or killed. The New Palea authorities moved swiftly to remove civilians from the scene, and the incident was declared classified at the highest level. For years afterwards, the media speculated about a government cover-up and the reasons for it. The families of the students involved were forbidden from speaking about what happened to their children afterwards.   Years afterwards, one of the former students--now living under a new identity in another country--spoke up about the school's brutal methods and traditions, and the powerful connections which had shielded them from repercussions, which had led to one of the other students taking matters into her own hands. The uprising had been planned, and the other students secretly trained for it, for six months before it happened. The statement proved extremely controversial, and the ex-student who had spoken was quickly relocated for his own protection. Shocking specific details about the identities of the powerful people who had protected the school were later anonymously released. They did not all meet justice until after the New Palea Coup, when the new Queen overhauled the entire government and justice system.
