Aeonic League

The semi-confederated alliance of Wilder Warlords and their respected city-ships, protectorate states, and servitor species, the Aeonic League is one of the most powerful nation-states in the Reknown-Galaxy. The Aeonic League id made up of a collection of Wilder Warlords, each controlling one of the great Wilder City-Ships (all named after famous last stands) and all its inhabitants. Outsiders view the Wilder society as nothing but violent chaos as internal factions constantly raid each other for resources and prestige (in fact, it could be stated that raiding the neighbors is the great Wilder pastime). But the deeper one goes into Wilder control space, the more confusing things become.
Though Aeonic society is highly class-based, with lords, knights and various other castes, legally there are few differences between a peasant and a warlord with each enjoying equal protection in the eyes of the law. Structurally speaking there are the Warlords, and by extension, the Warlord’s family and the Warlords house warriors and their families. These are fighters one and all and are trained are at an extremely young age through a highly competent method outsiders are forbidden to witness or learn about. These are typically what outsiders think of as Wilders as they act as the Aeonic League’s vanguard. These individuals are violent but good-tempered, argumentative but thoughtful. They love and discuss the latest science and philosophies and yet frequently engage in blood rituals and personal duels.
The second notable caste in Wilder society is the mark of any “Red Circle” society, even one as removed as the Wilders and that is the Red Ladies. Red Ladies serve the Aeonic League in the same ways they serve all societies they invest in. They are advisers, teachers, diplomats, confidants, researchers, sociologists and represent the Old Ways backbone of Wilder Society. However, as any Wilder Red Lady will tell the mistaken, they are not members of the Red Circle. They consider themselves an independent off-shoot of the Circle and not actual members. However, just like the Red Circle they hold a hugely disproportional amount of power inside of the Aeonic League. Red Ladies can order the end of hostilities between any warring faction inside the League, demand protection and transportation anywhere, and it is illegal to harm a Red lady or allow a Red Lady to be harmed.
However, one of the most important classes in Wilder and therefore Aeonic Society is what are called the Grey Ones; engineers, pilots, mechanics, scientists and any and all jobs that keep the great Aeonic war machine running smoothly. This sub-group largely keeps to themselves, but if provoked will fight every bit savagely as any Wilder. Grey ones are frequently captured and traded in the great faction raids, although harming or inconveniencing them (through means other than verbal) is illegal. For the most part, they are left to tinker and maintain all the advanced technology that allows for the Aeonic League to exist.
