Angeup

Valors heart of magic, Angeup stands as the only country that opposes the Witch Hunters rule and as such does not permit them into their borders. The Angeian royal family holds a decree that all magic is permitted and as such the country has become a haven for sorcerers and divine souls across Valor. The country provides libraries, schools and tutors for those that wish to learn and holds that no magic be restricted.   This creates an interesting dichotomy over the country. Those who police the spellcasters must be spellcasters themselves, however a student that drives themselves enough may become stronger then those policing them which has lead to much debate to those opposing the royal family and has lead to the Act of the High Guard. A mage powerful enough is offered to either join the ranks of the Angeian Royal Guard or must sign themselves over to the Shattered Aegis where they will be marked for divination by those same guards.   To many this fixed the issue but the choice between being conscripted into the guard or marked to be watched is an unpleasant one and as such many dangerous mages have left the country only to wreck havoc on the rest of the world.   The family continues to refuse to change their ways however, which has caused considerable tensions between the Witch Hunters stationed at its border and the royals themselves. Angeup is also home to the Shrine of Masks, home to Sivanah, one of the most sought after teachers in the land.

Geography

Angeup is a mountainous place who's lands are torn and altered by the powerful magics cast upon it. Elementals and other outsiders have been seen being born from the land itself and its not uncommon to see entire portions of the country shift and move.

Fauna & Flora

Angeups plant and animal population bear the brunt of the large arcane aura the country itself gives off. Magical Beasts and enchanted plants are commonplace and quite a threat to passing merchants and travelers who may not know the difference between a tree and a treant when hunting for firewood.
