The Great Dragon War

The Great Dragon War was a war that raged between the Redmonian people and the dragon species for a century. The way that it started, was with a group of selfish men. Who intended to use mother natures beauty for their own personal agendas. This group of men, a very stupid group of men at that, were attempting to murder a specific type of dragon, for it's venom was said to be the most poisonous substance in the entire kingdom. They thought to acquire it and then auction small vials of it off to the highest bidder. This specific dragon was known to inhabit the highest caves, on top of mountains and the trip was said to be very dangerous. Dangerous, but not impossible. So they made their way up the mountain, searching for the dragon along the way. They based their knowledge of this dragon off of information that they were given from a dragon whisperer. The whisperer told them that the dragon was known to be small, and that this type of dragon only grew to be the size of a horse. He also told them that they were highly competitive and cruel to their own kind, incapable of living together in a community because of how hostile they were, and because of that they were solo dragons, who did not live in large groups like other dragons. They were also told that this species were dragons of very little brain, and would be very easy to kill, once outsmarted. Knowing this, the group of men were extremely pleased, and set off quickly on their wicked quest. Now what they did not know at the time, was that the dragon whisperer was more fond of dragons than people, and despised this group of men for the senseless selfish killing that they wanted to do. So he told them extremely inaccurate information, in hopes that they wouldn't arm themselves too heavily, and so that the dragons wouldn't get hurt.   The group of men set off to their journey up the mountain, and made it up in three days time. Now again what they did not know, was that what they thought to be true about the dragons they were hunting was horribly inaccurate, and they were basically off to their deaths. The dragon they were hunting was not one of little brain, but was actually highly intelligent. The Dragon was known as an ice wing. Ice wings typically reside in cold, antarctic and snowy areas, but they can also live at the top of big mountains. Ice wings have silvery scales, like the moon or pale blue ice, ridged claws to grip the ice, forked blue tongues, and tails that narrow to a whip thin end. They can withstand sub zero temperatures, and there venom is extremely potent and deadly. There fire is blue. If an antidote isn't administered to someone affected by the venom within 2 hours of being affected, they will die a painful death.   When the men made it to the top of the mountain, they discovered that Ice Wings were not solo animals. Upon arriving they were met with a large group of 8 fully grown dragons, who were much, MUCH bigger, than horses. Still, for some foolish reason, instead of fleeing, they attacked and met a very violent, bloody, painful end. Of the 18 men who had journeyed up the mountain, only two escaped, those two being the only two to have the sense to turn around when they saw that they had been lied to.   The two men who escaped came back with a group of a hundred men, and thus began the great dragon war. The other dragons had become aware of the "bad blood" between mankind and dragon kind, and were less reluctant to be kind to humans. If provoked they would set towns on fire, steal cattle, etc.   The war raged on for a century, before a woman named Lilly Diggory, gifted with telepathy, communicated with the dragons, and set up a peace. It took some time, but it worked. From there the people found that dragons could be bonded with, and the perspective changed drastically.
