The 1st Great RedEagle empire and the RedEagle-Precursor war.
The 1st great RedEagle empire came into existence through a necessity to defend the Moderas home galaxy from the species known as the Precursors. The empire that would become RedEagle had conquered the majority of the Aer galaxy and had defeated countless enemies and fierce competition in the race to become the rulers of an entire galaxy, everything ran smoothly until the gods themselves turned their eyes towards Aer. The first sign of these eldritch beings was the sudden appearance of metallic creatures throughout the void space between stars, the second sign was the large beacons they left behind that seemed to breathe even in space, the third and final sign was the tentacle-like protrusions of sentient dust enclosing the galaxy. Overnight a million worlds succumbed into madness and chaos, these worlds thought to destroy themselves leaving empty husks that used to be planets as an offering to these gods. The gods themselves closed in on the galaxy, crushing planets and absorbing stars, it seemed to be apocalypse. The few remaining sane worlds of the empire hurriedly tried to find a way to stop these gods, and one individual whose name has been lost to time created the path to doing so; The Giver Particle. In an act of defiance against the stellar gods The Giver Particle was detonated within a planet in the path of one of these celestial beings, a new universe was born. In a rapid explosion of light and energy a bubble around the universe was created, this new bubble universe was named Heaven. Heaven held the key to defeating a god and intergalactic travel, through Heaven it was possible to travel outside of reality, it was possible to jump across the entire universe. It could even be used to banish these monstrous creatures out of the universe. After the destruction of this god, the remaining worlds of the Aer galaxy banded together and formed RedEagle, however the war between mortal and god had now begun.
The precursors were living effigies to these eldritch gods, many held the power to change reality itself, and many more controlled near infinite amounts of war machines. They surrounded Aer and RedEagle and began to crush what life was left out of the galaxy. Billions of warships descended into RE star systems and disgorged trillions of troops, however no matter how many they sent, not a single precursor would reach a RedEagle world alive. Heaven had become the ultimate weapon of mass destruction. RedEagle scientists had realised ways of using portals to create explosions of matter or to simply remove matter through Heaven. It was these weapons that gave RedEagle the time and the momentum to recolonise the Aer galaxy, through FTL travel they reached other galaxies. Over time the RedEagle empire pushed the Precursors further and further away until they could fight on their own no longer. The Moderas needed a new weapon, a weapon of superior numbers. The Dosera were RedEagles answer to this need, they were biologically engineered to reproduce in great numbers quickly, and they did just that. After only a hundred years, the Dosera became the most numerous species in the entirety of RedEagle, even going as far to populate an entire galaxy on their own. They could be thrown at the Precursors at every angle, dying in the millions to kill only a few thousand, but for every 10 dead Dosera there were 10 more, RedEagle had found its other superweapon. The Precursors found they could no longer fight to take ground, they had to fight to stop the expansion of RedEagle. For the first time in their existence their gods failed them in their quest for universal dominance. The precursors channeled the expansion of RedEagle towards a galaxy called “Orion”, it would be here that the Precursors hold a last stand and unleash their final weapon.
The RedEagle-Precursor war lasted for a billion years, other that time the Great RedEagle empire was formed with a territory of over 300’000 controlled galaxies and the potential to even go as far as the entire universe, however the expansion would suddenly stop upon reaching the Orion galaxy. The Precursors had unleashed a technological weapon that caused any and all technologies to rapidly decay, the RedEagle fleets found themselves isolated and at the mercy of Precursor weaponry.
For a thousand long years RedEagle sent fleet after fleet into the Orion galaxy, but the Precursors would not give in. Eventually RedEagle stopped sending fleets to be destroyed, and the Precursors faded out of existence, no longer having to fight and no longer being able to control themselves. The Orion galaxy would become the farthest reaching territory in the Great RedEagle Empire. The void around the galaxy would remain a desolate and wild space for billions of years to come.
The rapid expansion of the empire meant that communications and the ability to control the population had been stretched to the maximum, unfortunately for RedEagle this allowed thousands of smaller factions to take claims of RedEagle territories, even entire galaxies were lost to RedEagle without any resistance. Eventually the controlled territories of RedEagle fell back to the original few galaxies that RedEagle had controlled, this marked the end of the first Great RedEagle Empire. A few million years after the loss of the Empire Zencyre was born and soon the Second Great RedEagle empire would form, reclaiming every lost RedEagle territory and creating new gods.
