Causes

Arcane casters with the ability to cast the wish spell are the only individuals who are able to be afflicted with Wish Sickness. Though the God of magic has already constrained limitations on the mortal abilities to manipulate the threads of magic; mortals have still found a way to spurn those rules and break even the constraints of the wish spell. The foolish casters were engorged with arcane essence causing irreversible damage to their body and their spirit.

Symptoms

There are varying accounts on what symptoms the casters were afflicted with during the Age of Umber. The most recent mage afflicted with Wish Sickness was wracked with intense pain and internal necrosis when casting any spells that exceed that basic levels of magic.

Treatment

Currently there's no treatment for Wish Sickness excluding complete abstinence from the use of arcane practices. Beatrice has shown interest in studying the disease and discovering a treatment that will either cure or alleviate the symptoms.
Beatrice's theories for treatment follow two paths. One involves severing the soul from the individuals body, entrapping it in a gem, and purifying it before returning it to the body. The second choice involves using the wish spell to counter act the affects of wish sickness. This theory is that the power of the spell can counter act the effects of the illness. Though none of the theories were able to be practiced as of yet, but with a new case they may be able to be put into practice.
