The Faceless Organization in Realm Gate | World Anvil

The Faceless

"They don't exist anymore but their ferocity and zealotry for their Lord caused atrocities that still haunt bloodlines to this day. Horrid nightmare and other diseases plague us as a dark reminder of what they achieved before their elimination."   ~ Scholar

History

The Faceless were a demonic organization that was established in the later years of the Age of Umber prior to the start of the divine wars. The Faceless praised Guplet the Faceless Terror and Consumer of Hope. At first the organization was only demons. As the Age of War started the demons started to capture and enslave humanoids into their fold. Profane rituals and physical abuse turned these once normal humans into rabid, unfeeling monstrosities.   During the Age of War the first act of the Faceless was to dispose of the Dawn Marshalls soldiers. Rather than engaging in traditional warfare the Faceless started off with the children. The rituals they were taught by the Faceless Terror turned the children against their families and devouring their flesh. It then turned into biological warfare of plagues of the blood. One such disease, Sanguineiem Pice, traces its origins to the multitude of diseases they used in their assaults.   The Faceless's actions drew the attention of a multitude of powerful individuals. The chief among them the Dawn Marshall himself. The Dawn Marshall started granting visions to their followers of the Faceless. Not only the horrors that they have committed, but of their location and their Lord.

Disbandment

The Faceless were destroyed when the Champion of Dawn Marshall engaged Guplet in combat. The battle lasted 6 days, 6 hours, and 6 minuets till eventually the Champion was able to slay Guplet severing the mortal followers from their power source. Even though the Champion was victorious the affects were ever lasting and evolved into different strains with no connection to Guplet.
