Invocation of the Hunter
"Those who pray the Herne know when their child bleeds their first blood or their voice cracks that the hunter is about to challenge them. To prepare the children the parents invoke the hunter in the hopes that Herne can grant the child some wisdom before their first solitary hunt."

History
The Invocation of the Hunter is a recent ritual that has been partaken in some of the most rural parts of the Hinterlands that pray to Herne. When the populace started to pray to Herne they learned that Herne was not a forgiving god. When the children were challenged on their solitary hunts and died due to lack of ability the parents grieved and wailed on what to do.
Visited by the Hunting Hounds of Herne the parents were taught a ritual to invoke an aspect of Herne that would impart wisdom the parents could not to their children. When the ritual first worked the word spread like wild fire and all families were preparing for when their child came of age.
Components and tools
The child must find a chicken and raise them.
Participants
The only participant is the child whose coming of age.
Observance
When the child bleeds their first blood or their voice cracks they must go to their own coop, or a local coop, and chose a chicken. After naming the chicken and raising it themselves for a month they must bring the chicken to the village alter during the full moon. The chicken must be sacrificed at the alter and the child must anoint themselves with the blood of the chicken.
When anointed the child is visited by an aspect of Herne. The aspect imparts some wisdom on the child to start them on the path for improvement on hunting, but leaves it to the child to figure out what to do with that imparted wisdom.
