Project Astral

While those among the Simic Combine argue whether it is better to hold to tradition, or to seek out a few form of improvement, those of Project Astral understand that the only way to grow and ascend is to reach to the stars and beyond. Those who follow Project Astral, the Ascendants, teach that there is an infinite amount of magic untouched beyond our world, and that the possible uses of it is infinite as well. They preach that it is only foolish stubbornness and a blindness to the truth that has a person grasping onto our world and refusing to venture into the unknown.
The Ascendants believe that instead of trying to protect themselves with more advanced forms of hybrids and guardians, the Simic Combine must embrace change and become stronger themselves. To this end, those of Project Astral seek the knowledge and energy that is found beyond the stars to transcend and become like gods, able to travel beyond this plane. In essence, they envision using energy from other planes to become a Greater Planeswalker themselves, no longer forced to depend on the abilities of others for protection and guidance, especially during these turbulent times.

The birth of every Planeswalker begins with a spark, as the unknowing individual reaches within themselves in a moment of desperation, and grasping a hold of the energy around themselves, they fan that spark into a blaze and transcend their being into a creature beyond understand and move beyond the stars.
