Madai Fibers

While the Golgari Swarms official mission deals with agriculture and waste, the Golgari has come to be known for their clothing material. Made from the treated fibers of mushrooms, the Madai creates a durable and affordable fabric that is popular among the low to middle class citizens of Ravnica. Easily cleansed of stains and simply to mend, the Madai's value is in its usability, and is seen often in work uniforms and cheap clothing. Although due to its tight weave, Madai clothing are not as breathable as more expensive fabric.

Refinement

While clothing made from Madai fibers can be dyed, it is difficult to achieve any sort of vibrancy of color. Likewise, while it is possible to embroider the clothes, the material is difficult to pierce with a fine needle, so delicate works are found on other types of fabric.

Sold on the general market, Madai clothing made from the common natural colors can be found on the Transguild Promenade. Although one has to travel to the Golgari Swarm to get their hands on any clothing made from the exotic reds.

An entire everyday outfit made from undyed Madai, of the brown coloring, will cost between 5 cp and 10 cp, depending upon how eleaborate the outfit is. That price is doubled for a general dye, and trippled for the rare natural red coloring.
