His Contacts are a petty crook that lives in his neighborhood and a nosy woman who likes to gossip about what goes on in his Domain. His Fame is due to him being known as “that crazy street preacher” in his neighborhood. His Herd consists of a few fellow religious nutjobs who he Dominates into forgetting about his feeding on them. His Resources are largely the product of donations from other religious fanatics. His Retainers are a few wingnuts he’s turned into Ghouls that he often mistreats when they “sin"...which could be anything. They consist of Cletus Howard (a fat dumb redneck from Arkansas), Joseph Richmond (who handles the business and paperwork and maintains Reverend Church’s library of religious texts), and Edna Franklin (a crazy cat lady and religious fanatic). Virtues: Conscience 3, Self-Control 4, Courage 3 Morality: Humanity 5 Derangements: Obsession-Religious Monomania Willpower: 9 Backstory: Silas was born prior to the Protestant Reformation and was originally a Catholic priest and monk. He came from a poor English family who had turned him over to the church because they could not feed him. He got a good education from them and tried his best not to sin but still spent time doing penance for sinful thoughts he divulged in the sacrament of confession. Most of his sinful thoughts revolved around what he took for inconsistencies in scripture which led him to question the existence of God. For example, why would an omnipresent and omniscient God allow a serpent to alter His divine plan? When the Protestant Reformation arrived, he was caught up in it and left the monastery to join the movement in hopes that his difficult questions would finally be answered. But alas, it was not to be. Not even his letters to Martin Luther would avail him. Then it hit him...the inconsistencies arose from the fact that God was a joker. In fact, God was the greatest trickster of all for he had played an incredibly subtle joke on angels, demons, and humans alike. The revelation drove him to a lunatic cackling fit madness. He wandered for a bit before his Sire came across him and listened to his tale instead of drinking him dry and discarding his corpse as she had originally planned. She Embraced him a few nights later in an ancient cemetery. They wandered for a couple of hundred years or so until she decided to go into Torpor. He left for the New World and soon arrived in Ravenhurst. He would take part in the The Time of Bloody Constraint as an ally of Alec Lothaire and would become the Primogen for his Clan once Alec became Prince. The good Reverend has always served God by using his religious background as a justification for subtle but malicious pranks. He hopes to gather resources for his greatest joke ever...to bring about a second Time of Bloody Constraint. And he hopes to make it bloodier and more chaotic than the last time. Amen. Image: Reverend Church typically dresses all in black and wears a wide-brimmed hat. He has grey hair and the glint of a fanatic in his eyes. Think of a crazy religious huckster played by Christopher Lloyd. Roleplaying Hints: Talk bout God a lot. Call people sinners and exhort them to get down on their knees and pray for forgiveness. Either smile like a lunatic or raise your voice in moral outrage as you pint your finger in the air. Every so often, knock down one of your Ghouls for “sinning” and then yell at them to repent while you kick them.
