Arena of the Dharlur

Zweck / Funktion

The arena was built by The Dharlur with the purpose to use it as a fighting ground for their annual coming of age tournament where the teenagers that turned or will turn 15 that year face of against each other. They however only use it once a year for five days around the turn of the year. Therefore it stands empty for most of the seasons, which resulted in local people especially young people when they need a place to practice. It's also known to have frequently been used by wandering folks needing a place to sleep for the night. The Dharlur never bothered to change the availability of the arena for other people, as they are content to help others further themselves in the Art of War so long as they don't damage it.

Veränderungen

The arena needed to be rebuild multiple times when parts of it were destroyed during the fights between the young Dharlur. Over time they acquired more materials that are resistent to the arcane arts especially the elemental kind.

Architektur

The shape of the arena resembles a five-pointed star, each of the jags representing one of the elements the Dharlur learn to control. The building stands 30 meters tall with each jag is roughly 40 meters long. Over the years parts of the interior of the arena were rebuild with obsidian as a way to stop the young Dharlurs from tearing the arena apart during the tournament. The fighting area includes all the jags, where 5 candidates at a time are positioned at the beginning of a match as well as the giant place in the middle where the jags meet. Raised above the battlefield along the walls are grand stands and booths to observe the fights.
