Ramus

This world is a future Earth in which an apocalyptic event has occurred and become history. They are differently advanced then we currently are, but are not necessarily more advanced scientifically or technologically.   Although it is very like our Earth, there is magic here. Many types of witches, demons, and alternate planes coexist to some margin, although humans know very little of them all. The world is vast and new mysteries crop up every day, but most can easily ignore it. Inspired by the quote "Often times, people simply deny the existence of what they do not understand, and anyone who tells them otherwise is a liar. What they don’t know stays ‘unexplained’ and they are happy with that."   Every magic in this world has a price attached to it. While the trained can keep the balance, the world is heavily effected by amateurs who play with it. While their are many types of magic use, the essence of it is energy flow. It's a natural flow that can be manipulated if a fair price is paid.   Ramus is not the name of the world, but the city in which my books will be focused. Since this is all preliminary stuff, all these names and ideas may or may not change!
