The Mirror, sacred or forgotten place

Hidden in the mountains, a small entry past two intervowen trees. The steps are a hundred told, each inscriped with the Old Tongue. In the clearing, a brisk pond of clear mountain water, nature's harmony guarding the entrance to the realm of spirits.
— N'ae-an, Who Was the Mother Before our Mother

Nestled away in the mountaintops, safely hidden from sight by the protective branches of its trees, rests a clear blue spring. The only disturbance on the mirrorlike surface is from the glistening waterfall that ever flows into it.
— Areghan, former Alpha of Rainwinds, Those Who Are Blind to the Truth

There are different considerations regarding the Mirror, and the versions and stories give it different owners and powers, to the point that most of them only agree in its name. Rainwinds got, lost and stole it; Moonlights always were its owners; spirits of both sides of the border have claimed it in the words of the packs' leaders. To some, a pretty lake. To others, the spiritual center of the world, where the spirits of the dead cross into the realm of the living.

Geography

The Mirror itself isn't but a small lake on a ledge of the mountainside to the West, in the middle of the border between Rainwinds' and Moonlights' territories. It's officially a Rainwind possession now, but it's located inside the traditional Moonlight territory and they only (and barely) accept the lake itself as a Rainwind property.
