Gehenna
The Nation Down Below
Gehenna is a large nation that is very hard to reach. Not many people have successfully reached Gehenna and those that have, have seemingly never returned. A lot of rumors surround this nation, told by demons across the nations. It’s said that anyone can access Gehenna but to do so without a map would be difficult and entering would be perilous. Legend has it that there is a demon queen that rules Gehenna, followed by the demon king Ahriman, and the seven princes, Calmur, Harroman, Kirraan, Drakken, Elrick, Sicario, and Se’ras. Calmur being the youngest, along with Harroman, And Kirraan who all live inside the central palace walls with the king and queen. Drakken who resides in the northwest palace, ruling over that region. Elrick who runs the southeast palace region. Sicario running the southwest area. And Se’ras running the northeast quadrant. It’s told that the royals can turn other beings into demons if they so see fit, and that they are the only ones capable of doing this. The royals are said to leave Gehenna frequently, travelling the nations in search of those they deem worthy and giving them maps with the royal insignia on them, guaranteeing them safety inside the walls of Gehenna from the various demons that live there. It’s said as long as one has the map they can always find Gehenna and travel through it as they please. But there are demons out there who have been banished from gehenna that would do anything to get there hands on one of those maps. Gehenna is self run by its royalty, and self sustained. They have no allies with the other nations. Although there is an unspoken truce to keep demons from running completely rampant. They have a quarrel with Skaia, but neither nation has made any move against the other. Most blame Gehenna for things such as plague, famine, war, etc. Most beings, other than most demons, have no desire to travel to Gehenna. Another rumor of Gehenna is that a very, very long time ago the demon queen came into battle with a corrupt god. After many days of combat she was able to slay this god, upon its death it transformed into a Shiva Lingam, a stone that’s said to possess the spirits of gods and is very powerful. As the queen carried this stone back to Gehenna it slowly started to blacked and harden, probably from the corruptness of the gods spirit. As she reached the gates of Gehenna the Shiva Lingam had turned ebony black and harder than a diamond. She had her most trusted do what they could to try and break this stone, to turn it into a weapon of sorts, but nothing could break it. They finally sealed it off, treasuring it as their most prized possession. It’s believed that the gods spirit still resides within this stone, trapped within it as a sort of tomb. If this stone could be crafted into a weapon, it would be a dangerously powerful one, a weapon one could only wish to possess.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
