The Arabian Sultanates Alliance Army
Purpose:
To defend the Arabian Sultanates from all external and internal martial threats.
Origin:
There was a war between Humans and Demons in the Arabian region of the world. And only by combining their might and setting aside their in-fighting, did the Sultanates manage to repel the invasion and seal the major gateways which connected the natural world with the spiritual.
After the war, the Arabian Sultanates saw the value in a united strength, and formed an alliance protected by one independent army, comprised of people from every Sultanate. The army was officially recognized by all Arabian Sultanates in the second year of the alliance. And since then, it has repelled all outside invading forces, frequently won frontier skirmishes against other nations, and quelled any rebellious or treacherous military movements from within.
Recruitment and Finance:
The army bolsters its numbers and provides for all its needs via calculated restrictions that the alliance has agreed to:
Fresh Recruits:
First, each Sultanate must provide an able bodied man or woman between the ages of fifteen and twenty five as a recruit, plus their wage and supplies (food, clothing, tools) for their entire career, and a one-time induction fee of one gold coin, for each of the following criteria:
One recruit provision, as just mentioned, for each royal guard in the Sultanate.
Ten recruit provisions for each legitimate prince or princess, multiplied by the number order of the heir (i.e. third prince requires thirty provisions).
Fifty recruit provisions for each royal castle, harbor, or fort. These combine; a castle with a harbor and fort requires one hundred and fifty provisions.
These provisions are non-reversible in case their cause criteria ceases to exist. They do not reoccur due to a replacement of their cause criteria (i.e. A heir dies and a new heir is born).
Otherwise, if the recruit ceases to exist in the army, they must be replaced within three months along with all their provision staples, minus the induction fee, so long as their cause criteria still applies.
In case of each recruit provision, the Sultanate has the alternative of paying the army one gold coin a year, which is near double the expense. Another option is payment for the services of a master artisan for a year, which is even more costly on average.
Fares Recruits:
Second, each Sultanate must provide an able bodied Fares (knight) of any age, who must display prowess in riding, swimming and archery. Along with a combat mount, armor, and a weapon of the Fares's choosing, plus their wage and supplies (food, clothing, tools) for their entire career.
This Fares provision is required for each fifty recruit provisions (rounded up) from the same Sultanate (i.e. Fifty one recruit provisions would require two Fares provisions).
As the recruit provisions, Fares provisions are non-reversible, and must be replaced if they cease to exist, however the grace period is extended to one year.
In case of each Fares provision, the Sultanate has the alternative of paying the army five gold coins a year, or pay to outfit ten recruits annually with combat mounts, weaponry, and armor.
Civil Worker Recruits:
Third, each Sultanate must provide an able bodied and educated man or woman between the ages of twenty and thirty as a civil worker, plus their wage and supplies (food, clothing, tools) for their entire career.
This civil worker provision is required for each ten Fares provisions (rounded up) from the same Sultanate (i.e. Eleven Fares provisions would require two civil worker provisions).
As the other provisions, civil worker provisions are non-reversible, and must be replaced if they cease to exist, however the grace period is shortest; one month.
In case of each civil worker provision, the Sultanate has the alternative of paying the army ten gold coins a year.
