The Queen - Bride of the Sun, High Priestess of the Aspect of Order
The Queen
Despite her constant appearances among her own people and indomitable both on the battlefield and in her city’s walkways, the Queen remains enigmatic and mysterious. Her beauty is not easily rivaled, and prowess doubly so, which serves to make her awe-inspiring, and a bit difficult to approach. Almost none know her true name, as she seems to be the very personification of regal bearing; hence, simply referring to her as “The Queen” is more than enough for most folks.

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Fit, agile, attentive and swift, The Queen is built for flight and battle. Her body is covered in scales that shape and reform at will in order to change their function and appearance. Typically, her scales are a lustrous red and gold, and often appear like clothing or armor, as opposed to the organic substance they actually are. In whatever configuration she wears, she typically has six large wings made of light and seven jewels that seem much like eyes protruding from her upper chest and sternum.
The Queen has never been seen to suffer from mortal illness, and is nearly limitless in her endurance. However, she does fall into long coma-like slumbers known as "The Queen's Repose", and these can last as short as a few months to almost a century. These bouts of slumber are random and have no discernible criteria for when they will occur. During such Reposes, the Knight Commander has traditionally taken command in her stead. Her last recorded Repose was 50 years ago, and citizens are concerned that she might fall into Repose soon, and during a time of unprecedented civil unrest...
Body Features
Scales of red and gold, 6 wings made of light, hair that moves and shines as it were flame, red eyes that can be felt from miles away, and 7 jewel orbs adorning her upper chest. When not seen in this majestic form, she can be seen in less extravagant yet unmistakable configurations. Whatever appearance she takes, as long as it is not a disguise, she always retains her 7 jewels and red scales in some form or another. She seems to favor a pixie cut with one overlarge bang, with light green-blonde colors and a stripe of red on the bang. This look is considered quaint and old-fashioned, although the classic appearance makes it a common choice for women and men of almost any age.
Facial Features
The Queen has an expressive and youthful face, with a small nose, full lips, elegant jawline and large eyes. When not wearing her Crown of Scales, which can cover much of her face, she appears somewhat doll-like and almost fragile. A famous painter once managed to capture her stark beauty and loneliness in the dead of night by climbing along the outside of The Crystal Spire, and watching her stare longingly into a garden pond. She caught the man after only a few minutes, and simply let him walk out with nary a word. Still, the man managed to sketch her in profile, and finished his work at his home.
The painting is hanging in the Crystal Castle, along with a monument detailing his career.
Identifying Characteristics
The Queen is already so recognizable, that she rarely wears anything else for long. She carries no piercings, tattoos or accessories that she cannot simply form using her scales.
Physical quirks
The Queen is known for having a seductive quality to her. When she walks, it is with a confident swaying of the hips, when she fights, it is with efficient precision and grace, sometimes like a dance, other times like a machine. She is ambidextrous, though she prefers her right hand for mundane tasks.
Special abilities
There are too many to list, and there always seem to be more than previously known. Her most commonly seen abilities include:
- Hypersonic Flight
- Sunbeams
- Resurrection
- The Gift of Tongues
- Divine Eloquence
- Immortality/Invulnerability
- Ultimate Spell Mastery
Apparel & Accessories
One might note that The Queen rarely appears as if she is in a relaxed state, as far her scale configurations go. She prefers functional appearances and apparel, with a minimalist sleekness to her natural armor. The scales themselves can appear supple or rigid upon command.
Specialized Equipment
The Queen is a Master-at-Arms, proficient with every conceivable weapon, although if she were to have a weakness, it would be that she is not necessarily the greatest at them. She prefers to fight with bow and rapier, and she uses her overwhelming magical power for intense artillery spells and crowd control. While she is an extraordinary duelist, any whom have seen her in real battle note that she is more of a strategist than a front-line attacker, and generally favors on precision over brute force.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Much of the The Queen's past is unknown, as she is not very forthcoming about her personal life. That said, since Ascension Day, what few people that did know of her true past took that secret to their graves. She claims that she was the previous empire's Empress, while Information and records recovered during archaeological salvage runs indicate that is the truth, people pine to know of her in a personal way.
The Queen remains painfully distant, and most of the time, she deflects questions with tender politeness. Some theorize that being separated from her love, The Architect, is such a profound pain that she wishes not to dwell on it any more than necessary. Regardless, her history since Ascension Day is quite well documented, as she has served as the ideal leader and role-model that every youth in the Queendom can look to. For most people, she is less a person and more an icon, to be admired for what she represents, although more than a few boys and girls grew to harbor romantic attachment to their Queen. Many have even climbed the ranks of her Knight Orders just to propose to The Queen, only to be met with the same gentle denial. Surprisingly, such spurns have never resulted in open resentment of The Queen.
The Queen has lived for well over a thousand years, and has tremendous experience to draw upon. However, the trials and tedium of immortality in the realm of mortals causes her to periodically enter states of hibernation, and can often go decades under a deep sleep known as "The Queen's Repose". The longest Repose recorded was almost 120 years, and she was violently awoken with a direct attack upon the Crystal Castle by a rogue fanatical order known as the Knight Order of the Blood Dragon.
On that dark day, the savagery of a Neo-Dragoon Goddess was seen, heard and felt when the earth roiled, the rain blew away and a second sunrise shined in the horizon as The Queen meted out swift retribution upon the wayward Knight Order. No such rebellion would ever arise again.
Gender Identity
Female. Address her always by her title, "The Queen". You may add other titles along with it, but it must include "Queen".

Accomplishments & Achievements
- Founded the Queendom and its capital, Citadel City.
- Created the Church of the Architect, defined the "Aspect of Order", and the Knight Orders
- Cleared and secured a large expanse of land for her people single-handedly, and maintained peace and security alone, until the formation and deployment of the first Knight Order, the Order of the Rose.
- Established contact and maintained sustainable relations with other nations and groups for 70 years after founding the Queendom.
- Rescued the Queendom from collapse 5 times during adjustment phases with new form of goverment.
Failures & Embarrassments
- Brought a corrupt and extremist Knight Order to justice by issuing and personally executing a death sentence against the Knight Order of the Blood Dragon. It is a polarizing event that many look to as an example of both the justice system at work, and the Queen's rare moments of emotional distress. Many argue that it was the right decision, while some criticize this as a rash and needless loss of life. All agree that to incur The Queen's wrath is to invite obliteration.
Mental Trauma
CLASSIFIED
Given her long life and constantly at the helm of government, along with still maintaining a fighting edge, it's safe to assume that The Queen carries several traumas. However, to the outside observer, she appears emotionally stable. She makes clear-headed decisions most days, is seen smiling at what others say and show her. If she does have any true weakness, not a soul has spoken of it.
Intellectual Characteristics
The Queen is, above all else, extremely patient. She is highly intelligent, and appears to specialize in communication. She is an expert conversationalist, a consummate public speaker, and is often said to be a better talker than a fighter. While nobody dares to challenge her ability in combat, she seems not to mind such statements. Often, she invites opposing points of view to speak with her in casual gatherings, and often practices debates with student politicians.
She seems next to be perfect in her mental acuity, and always seems to remember a name after only hearing it once. Her ability to recall records is still faster than most computers of the current age. Sadly, she refuses to be assessed or measured in order to truly understand her mental capabilities, a practice that no doubt contributes heavily to her continued dominance over mere mortals.
Morality & Philosophy
Using traditional alignment, The Queen is Lawful Neutral, with a heavy lean towards Good.
The Queen is an icon, and she exemplifies every ideal that the Aspect of Order sets for its followers. Were she a mortal, the pressure alone would surely rush her. The Queen is unquestionably lawful, and is always careful to comport herself as she believes she should. However, The Queen follows a relatively neutral path when it comes to righteousness. While all agree that she can be the very definition of the word "good", she never claims such. In fact, neither does her doctrine. If anything is made law, the reason is usually practical in nature, as opposed to moral. There are also times when The Queen has used her authority and overwhelming power to violate certain rights and rules. They were recorded, and are still debated hotly to this day. The Queen always places the mission first, and sometimes, that mission can seem downright cruel.
She is the primary teacher of the Aspect of Order. This will be discussed in its own article.
Excerpts from the Aspect of Order:
On Sexuality:
The Queen has not been seen engaging in any activity that would reveal her preference, but it is known that she is the "Bride of the Architect", and it is assumed that she is heterosexual. She has given birth to the Son of the Sun, and while the Prince's name and identity are protected (for safety reasons), this assumption is further reinforced. The Queen does not enforce nor preach about any particular "orthodox" sexuality. She presides over all marriages, be they hetero or not, as marriage in the Queendom is a partnership and carries mechanical benefits. However, she is highly concerned for the establishment of families, and does not allow abusive relationships or parenting to go without intervention for long. The Queen respects privacy, and does not typically concern herself with modes of expression or practices. Sex is natural, enjoyable, and can be practiced responsibly. Marriage is not required, but strongly encouraged. The age of consent is 16 years, and parents are encouraged to teach responsible practices as early as feasible. The Queendom is always in need of fresh troops! The exceptions to not enforcing a particular preference are: zoophilia, pedohilia, necrophilia, attraction to excessive violence or trauma, and cannibalism. The list grows with every boundary that people continue to test... The Queen will not allow such deviant behaviors to persist within her realm, and has been known to occasionally walk through every settlement and town, as well as the Citadel, at odd hours and in various disguises in order to catch such deviants. Information on such behavior is rewarded, anonymous tips and details often make their way to Inquisitors, and warrants are automatically expedited during investigations, as these deviations typically involve various forms of abuse. The Queen persecutes to the full extent of the law, and spares no sympathy. Punishments range from years of imprisonment and heavy fines, to the death penalty, depending on severity. On Gender Identity:
The Queen identifies as female, and is an extremely powerful example of femininity. She wears a dress as finely as she wears her armor, and though her natural beauty is exquisite on its own, she has been known to partake in feminine trends on occasion. Despite this, she also displays masculine traits quite effectively though her adherence to the core values that she teaches all the Knight Orders. Aggressive when necessary, calm most other times, smiling often, and acting with elegance, The Queen is always sustaining the standards she sets for her people. To assist in teaching what it means to be either a man or woman she often retells stories of the Architect, recites the history of past Knights and other leaders, both male and female, and encourages people to find their own meaning in their roles. She sustains the traditional gender roles of "male" and "female", and teaches that one must commit to a role. If a person simply cannot abide by their natural gender identity, The Queen has permitted the use of magic and medicine to facilitate transitions, although she still requires that person commit to their chosen roles. This commitment is a symbol of the stalwart adherence to duty and responsibility. If one cannot adhere to their roles, then they cannot be trusted to perform even the simplest task to standard. On Capital Punishment:
The Queendom does not have the space to entertain overlong prison sentences, nor does it have the resources to waste on people who refuse to be helped. Punishments are meant to fit the crime, and there are certain crimes that will result in the death penalty. These include, but are not limited to:
- Treason
- Fratricide
- Homicide
- Dishonorable suicide
- Absence Without Leave for longer than a year
All legal execution orders are to be carried out by The Queen herself, or an appointed representative. There is precedent of The Queen overruling a death sentence after conducting a final review of the case and the individual in question. Executions are not always public, but will always have at least 10 witnesses, along with recording devices. Successful executions are irreversible. The Queen's divine power renders death by her hands, or by an appointed representative, immune to necromancy or resurrection. The Architect giveth, and in His Name, The Queen taketh away.
- Sexual Misconduct of the First Degree
Taboos
The Queen is patient, forgiving and benevolent, but her ire has also been noted. The following makes her upset to the point that she has made them taboo and illegal:
- Treason
- Consistent insubordination
- Sexual deviance
- Necromancy
- Excessive abuse of any kind
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
The Queen's ultimate motivation is to provide stability and safety to the people of the world, starting with her Queendom. As a divine creature, she has full access to The Architect, and often turns to Him for guidance and support. While The Architect never gives an answer away, He listens and provides what is necessary for anyone, not only The Queen, to find their own solutions.
She does dream of a day when she can finally leave the people to themselves. She grows weary of their demands...
Savvies & Ineptitudes
The Queen is a fantastic leader, and excellent soldier, a social wunderkind! She cannot sports or video games. She cannot. The former simply due to her supernatural physical superiority and a penchant for forgetting the rules (which boggles the mind of the mortals around her), and the latter for much the same reason, as well as the somewhat endearing fact that she is a sore loser. Endearing, of course, because allowing herself to have an emotional outburst over something petty conflicts with her Divine Elegance... but she has commented quietly that "it must take tremendous self-discipline not to immediately garrote an opponent with the controller cables."
Likes & Dislikes
None know The Queen well enough to know what she personally enjoys. It seems to make her smile when people offer gifts of any kind, achieve noteworthy success, or even simply witnessing people comport themselves in amicable ways. She has been known to seek comedians, however!
Her distaste for things is much easier to note, and can usually be ascribed to uncouth or unlawful behavior. She tolerates the controlled use of certain vices, such as alcohol and tobacco products, as she sees it as a simple pleasure of life when consumed in moderation. She knows that mortals need ways to escape and relax, and she will not deny them such things, so long as they are responsible about it.
Virtues & Personality perks
The Queen exemplifies her Core Values (as described in her doctrine) of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Honor, Courage, and Selfless Service. Above all else, she acts with grace and extraordinary patience. She is also prone to laughter, and isn't afraid to change her approach in order to help a person relax. Demure sometimes, hardened other times, she is the very ideal of social skill and emotional intelligence.
When not in a conversational mood, she is often stalwart and a bit aloof, sometimes walking or flying past people or events and not taking notice right away, which can grant her a somewhat foreboding air.
Vices & Personality flaws
The Queen is many great things. She is also extremely terrifying. Though slow to anger, her Divine Elegance will rarely give to tremendous rage. "The Queen's Wrath" is so tempestuous and awful, it is described more like a natural disaster than an outburst. Only twice has such a frenzy been recorded, and it usually resulted from some terrible event prior to her Wrath. Although exceedingly rare, it's a training scenario that all citizens periodically review, since The Queen requires her subjects to subdue her, lest she visit her wrath upon her neighbors and spark war.
Even when not raging, The Queen is never quiet about her displeasure, and is prone to making examples of those who earn her attention in a negative way. It should also be noted that The Queen is known for keeping a great many secrets, and has perfected the art of dodging a question, to the point that more than a few question her true intentions and trustworthiness...
Hygiene
The Queen immaculately clean and always presentable. None can reach her room at the top of her Broken Tower, so none can say what it might look like, but everyone is fairly confident that it is likely tidy and kempt. (It's literally lava flows and melted glass that she treats like a spa. Low maintenance!)
Social
Contacts & Relations
The Queen maintains open communication with the following factions and nations:
- The Jade Monastery
- The Garden Commune of Hammetra
- The Umbral Commonwealth
- The Bladed Ones
Family Ties
It is unclear if the members of the Pantheon are truly related to The Queen, since the old Empire was known to be meritocratic as opposed to hereditary. Regardless, it has become accepted that the following have ties to The Queen in some meaningful way:
- Son of the Sun, the Prince
- Halo, the Emerald Grandmaster
- Hammetra, Princess of the Earth and Sky
- Blade, the Hand of the Archtect
- Mother Iris, She Who Knows Best
- S.K.Y.

Wealth & Financial state
Her exact wealth is difficult to describe, as it could be said that she owns all of the Queendom. Since her needs are different from a mortal, it is difficult to even quantify it. It would be easier to describe the cost of upkeep for the entire Queendom, and such information is classified.

Quotes & Catchphrases
"The Day Cometh."
It is a nuanced phrase, which has been interpreted to mean all manner of things. Three popular opinions have developed over its actual meaning. Since it is part of a longer prayer to The Architect, many believe it refers to the ever-promised dawn, and that one should gird themselves to weather any hardship, for surely better days will come. Others think that it refers to the promise of justice for misconduct and evil deeds, as it lends itself well to serve as a warning of retribution. Lastly, there is a minority that speaks of a prophecy for the day that The Architect will return to the world, and this notion is gaining traction...
