Calcerum

Calcerum is a non-combustible deep scarlet sedimentary rock, formed similar to the shape of coal. It's most commonly found as a porous rock strata.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Calcerum, both when looking at it in a rough version or slab, has interlaces of gold and silvers within the overall geode.

Compounds

Calcerum's chemical makeup is primarily calcite and oxygen, with a chief amount of carbon, aragonite, and trace amounts of other elements

Geology & Geography

Most Calcerum was formed along the base of mountainous and cavernous environments, and trails into the planet's soil itself.

History & Usage

Everyday use

Its most common use is Red Dust a recreational drug. Taken from its mineral form, it is then pounded into a fine powder. The most common practices are either, once in a fine powder, snorting the raw form or adding it to Mist and smoking it. if the powder is pressed into a pill form, it can be dissolved on the center of the tongue for a more intense experience. Red Dust acts as a hallucinogen and stimulant, similar to Gaia Prime's LSD.

Hazards

Calcerum has an effect that, upon struck, the geode will form a fine dust into the air and cling to the wings of Pyrrans. After the dust is placed firmly on their wings, it will harden and severely maim overtime. This is why the technology company, ChironTech, developed a form of personal protective equipment to assure the Pyrran people that they would be protected.

Distribution

Law & Regulation

The recreational use of Calcerum is prohibited among a few planets such as Terra and Uthis.
