Taretza

 

Dangerous as it may be, this land is the one thing that many desire, and what all that who come here want.

  Known as the New World, Taretza was discovered in a region that was thought to be part of The Deep, and its finding started the Era of Discovery when Wynfiel Vicfealor reached its shores 14 decades ago. The reason why the land had been hidden for so long is that not only is it very close to the deep, but the sea north of the continent, where the only canal is located, features a large coral reef, called the Felvon reef, which one is required to navigate through to reach the continent itself.   This southern land features a large variety of flora and fauna hiding in humid jungles, temperate plains and arid deserts. The north part of the land features mostly jungles, with a desert in the northeast. Meanwhile, in the south are several mountain ranges separating the forests. During the latter part of the year, the land is covered in monsoons that last for several months.   Taretza is also known as the "land of the beasts", due to the many that roam it, both small and large. However, this title also notes to the dangers that Taretza holds. Many of these beasts are easily able to take out several people, caravans, or possibly even smaller settlements depending on the creature. The famed Cataegis Company gained their reputation for gathering powerful adventurers who could combat these creatures and gather their materials, which the company would sell back to the rest of the world.  

Nations

The north of the land is ruled by 4 separate nations, each governing a large piece of land, while in the south you will find scattered city-states placed between the mountains.

• First and foremost is the kingdom of Eshiesal, covering the northernmost portion of the land.
• The Dakhm Empire holds sway over the deserts and badlands to the north-east.
• The Jozu Dynasty has control over parts of the north-west as well as Dokuji, an island to the west of Taretza.
• Finally, the Banyak Principality governs over the smaller islands east of the mainland.

  Between these nations is the Volopin Woods, a massive jungle that serves as neutral territory. Rumors of mystery surround the jungle, and not many who enter are known to ever return.
