Amaterasu: Seeker of Fire and Water

Amaterasu was the first Half-Giant of the land of Mid-Guard to adventure to the outside world. Born as the end of the War of Fire and Ice, she was too small to become a warrior and instead stayed home as simple farmer and sheep herder. She lived a simple life, tending sheep, telling stories, and feeding the village orphans. As the war raged on, the Lord of Fire and Lord of Water each chose a mountain to fight from and caught in the hellish storms of their brawl, was the small village that Amaterasu resided. Seeing the destruction of such a conflict, she climbed both the Mountain of Ice and Mountain of Fire, seeking an end to the storm that tore at her homelands. Upon meeting the Elemental Lords, she brought brought war of Fire and Water to an end with her stories. With her beguiling tales, she brought both Elemental Lords to settle and listen to her stories, ending their rivalry that spanned millenniums on the ending of a single tale. This is how the Steam Peaks were formed. As a monument to Amaterasu's kindness, the two lords of fire and water forged an entire continent that was fashioned from the mountains that she climbed and destined to stay fertile and arable for the eternity to come.
