Modern-day detective with a rocky past. Devon is young, a little messed up, and instincts better than people 50 years her veteran.   Escaping two abusive relationships, she's dropped everything in an effort to get away. Finding her dream job, and actually getting it, were way more than she was hoping for when she buried herself in South Florida. Things are finally looking up, her boss is amazing her fellow investigators are teaching her the ropes and she's made the first real friend she can ever remember having.   Most of the work that comes through the office at Noir Services in your typical Cheaters special, with a few missing persons some theft cases and a smattering of other run of the mill things. Murder isn't usually on the table. And officially it still isn't, the police are saying a series of accidental deaths are just that. Accidental. Devon isn't so sure, and when a body comes in with bullet holes she knows she was right from the very beginning.
