Rimia (REE-mee-ah)

Rimia Honória Lacerda de Albuquerque (a.k.a. Rimi)

“It can’t be much worse out there… can it?”
Rimia is the fourth, also the youngest child and only daughter of the Albuquerque. Her grandfather, Alexandre de Albuquerque, held an important position at court and is connected by remote illegitimate descent with the Ugnian monarchy. Rimia’s father, Sancho de Albuquerque, is an important general, a statesman, and is renown as a great explorer from his youth days’ achievements. Sancho’s wife, Cristina, died very young after birthing Rimia. Rimia always hoped her father and brothers to not set blames on her for the mother’s death. None of them ever framed it that way, but the feeling of guilt is evermore present. Rimia is born feeble, passing most of her childhood bedridden and overprotected. She tries not to be a burden or disappointment to her family; seeks to grasp her dreams but at the same time perform the role it was expected of her by her family, even if in her own way.

Personal history

(Notes) Rimia's born very frail conditioned, leading to her being carefully protected and restricted by strictly rules to limited allowances. However, she used to play a lot with her two older brothers, who would for the most part upset her with their boyish behaviour and play-style.   Their oldest brother was usually busy attending matters with their father. Rimia would often observe him looking very distant; those are the neater memories she actually has of him.   Their mother died relatively shortly after bearing Rimia. She was already frail during the time of her pregnancy and even weaker after having the girl; the thought of it always shattered Rimia's on feeling of guilt.   Her father, Sancho, went through a whole lot of changes after his wife died. His temper would in a flick flip from passive to aggressive, but he could control himself mostly. Her two other brothers were the usual target of his temper. Leaving her most of the time spared of his mood-flips. Though in another hand she was target of an overt control from his part and almost absolute prohibition to do anything major.   Their father would dedicate most of his time on his travels. He started to grow more aloof, to either matters of their House as well as to his children, only coming back from time to time and as if he'd lost himself. This was the period during which the oldest brother kept things on check with his siblings and also as handling their father; that until his mysterious disappearance.   After the disappearance of their eldest brother their father ceased going in his frequent travels and stayed home often. Not to their own good, though; he was a different man from before, not the father they used to know.   Soon after Sancho died which eventually was strong an event enough to breakdown the status of their House. Nevertheless, his death has yet to be announced and the children, namely Rimia, decided to struggle to avoid let the family tumble.
