February 2023: Updates

February has been a lot this year, but I've made some great progress despite all the roadblocks it threw my way including a rather nasty norovirus that almost put me in the hospital. (Dehydration is no joke!)   Inevitable edits have been slower than ideal but I have been making progress. I'm notoriously skilled at avoiding editing, so I've been working on methods for motivation and organization which have proven helpful.   Basically, attempting to do all my edits all at once was too intimidating, and so I was just staring at it and having a hard time actually doing anything. Splitting it into a focus on chapter by chapter wasn't helping either because a bunch of the edits have to carry through the whole book.   So instead I broke them down by type of edit, and will be making three editing passes. First edit I will be commenting the big things and editing the small things, and then coming through again for part two. I'm feeling a lot less stressed about it, so already it helps.   I also recently realized that while I often write short snippets and side stories to get myself into the right kind of writing mood, I haven't attempted anything like that for my editing. Mindset is a big part of how I stay on track, so I've identified some old writing I can edit, as well, to help get myself focused. As a result, don't be surprised if I throw some old but recently edited shorts at you. That's me getting into gear for editing.   In other news, I filed for LLC status, which means Vazdimet Studios will soon be Vazdimet Studios LLC, and officially recognized as a small business! I'm told this will happen sometime mid-April, at which point I can start a business bank account and all sorts of other little quality of life perks and protections. I'm excited!   I have still been writing, in the meantime. Emy and I have been hard at work on the third and final story in the Destinee trilogy, and I finally finished my article for the Valcore Oracle, which I have been poking at for a while now.   Also, I finally committed to a publication date! In Spite of the Inevitable will be available to add to your virtual and physical shelves November 17th of this year. Excitement!   Thanks for all your love and support. You are a large reason for why I can do what I do. Thank you.
