Captain Kirsha Oak

Captain Kirsha Oak is a ruthless river pirate, that prowls the bays and inlets near the outlaw town of Knifeman's Slough.  She was once a normal dryad that had the misfortune of over indulging one night and when she reawaken from her stupor found that her tree while still being alive had been magically warped into a boat by a druid shipwright named Restavos.    Restavos was an eccentric druid who had been trying to come up with a method for creating a self repairing boat when he had hit upon the novel idea that if he could craft the boat out of wood that was technically still alive it would retain the natural ability of trees to heal themselves over time. Kirsha's tree was the last one he had used to construct the boat and was completely unaware that it was inhabited. His plan worked and the trees remain alive in the final product. When Kirsha awoke she immediately panicked and in her fear and anger killed the unlucky shipwright and flung his body into the lake and spent the next several hours curled up in the small boat crying. Her tears were abruptly interrupt however by a brief coughing fit that to her horror resulted in reaching up some sort of lacquer that had been used to help preserve the boat.   Since her repurposing Kirsha's fear has turned into violence as she desperately seeks a way to return to normal.  In order to find a cure to her condition she has turned to piracy attacking smaller ships to steal valuables to trade with the pirates and bandits of Knifeman's Slough for information that might lead to a cure. She is brutal in her tactics is known to pretend to be a boat in distress to lure in would be rescuers before attacking. She is particularly viscous with druids, who she torture's in an attempt to learn how to return her to her natural form. Inevitably when they fail to give her the results she desires she kills them often by drowning though recently she has been getting more creative. Despite telling herself that they deserve it or that she just needs to know the information, deep down however she has gotten a taste for violence and piracy. Occasionally when she is particularly introspective she realizes this and hates herself for it often breaking down into tears that inevitably break down into lacquer laced coughing fits.
