MH-X3 grenade

The MH-X3 grenade was designed by the Robins Corporation as a dual function explosive for the Terran military. They function as either a flash grenade or as an explosive grenade depending on the situation.The goal of the project was to reduce the equipment weight that the average soldier was expected to carry. Because of the expensive price, they would only be issued to soldiers with assignments that required long distance travel. It was more cost effective for soldiers who were not traveling far to just carry separate explosive and flash grenades.

Terran soldiers were notorious for attempting to modify them to allow for the grenade to use the explosive feature and the flash feature at the same time. This was rarely successful, and more often than not resulted in the grenade becoming deactivated. This problem eventually led to the development of the MH-X4 grenade.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

A small button on the top allowed the user to change from "Explosive mode" to "Flash mode" or vice versa. The grenade could only perform one of these tasks before being spent. It can't be picked up and used again for the other function. The grenade used the same components for either function.

The MH-X4 grenade

The MH-X4 grenade would eventually allow simultaneous use of the flash and explosive functions, but had only just started production when the scream slowed production to a standstill. MH-X4 grenades are extremely rare due to the limited production before the scream.

A creature who is stunned cannot take any other action other than attempting to end the condition. The creature must use an action to retry the saving throw that inflicted the condition. Every time the saving throw is retried, the DC goes down by one. No matter what the original save was, stun recovery saving throws are always mental saves.
