EoP: Session 3: Gone Rogue

General Summary

The party woke to find that Zhuk Chelovek had deserted in the night. Twitch spent 9 days and 85 credits to repair the damage to E1M1's Beowulf Class Trader.

Mr. Doctor decided to head to the Rusty Spur Saloon and look for a job. He wanted Jinny Kerensky to come with him, but communicated this by pointing his laser rifle at her. Twitch and E1M1, assuming she was being kidnapped, decided to follow. Outside of the saloon, a police officer warned Mr. Doctor to put his away, when Mr. Doctor didn't comply, he attempted to arrest him. Mr Doctor fired his rifle into the officer's chest and he died instantly. The officer had called for backup, and other police opened fire from a nearby rooftop. Mr. Doctor attempted to take cover in the saloon, but the clientele turned on him once they realized what happened. Among them was Easy Company. Mr. Doctor was arrested without further resistance.

The party received a transmission from Walker Dilucca that Mr. Doctor was set to be transported to the prison in Macao via Magtrain. Twitch decided that they would break Mr. Doctor out by intercepting the magtrain he was to be transported on. For this purpose, he created an electromagnet gun, an electromagnet with a cable and a launching system to attach to the magcar and pull it off the rail. They also needed to figure out what magcar Mr. Doctor was being transported in. Unfortunately, they were detected when E1M1 tried to remotely hack into the jail's computer network to find out what car E1M1 would be transported in. Two fighter craft were scrambled to capture the party. E1M1 immediately flew straight up, aiming to escape the atmosphere. The fighters caught up to them once they escaped the atmosphere, but Twitch managed to incapacitate one by grabbing it with the electromagnet. E1M1 then pulled both craft into a spike drill. The Spike drill takes 9 days, and the ship's fuel scoop was damaged in a mishap. Nevertheless, the party safely made it to the The Hirtius System.

Shortly after arriving at the Hirtius system, they received a desperate transmission from the ship that they had dragged along. His life support system was failing and he needed to be let into the ship so that he wouldn't asphyxiate. The party decided to idle their engines until the pilot would die. Three days later, rather than asphyxiate, the pilot ejected himself into space and died instantly. Twitch deconstructed his fighter and stored it in the cargo hold. Then, he fixed the fuel scoop. The party then spent 4 days refueling with the fuel scoop. With the spike drive refueled, the party immediately started another spike drill to return to Luthien. They aimed to break Mr. Doctor out of prison.

Twitch, Jinny, and E1M1 landed in a secluded spot in the desert and started working on their ship. Twitch spent two days attaching a reaper battery that he had taken from the fighter onto their ship. Meanwhile, Mr. Doctor was tried for his crime. He was quickly found guilty for murder, murder of an officer, and disrupting the peace, and was sentenced to 40 years of prison.
