Fionsic

Fionsic is the capital city of the nation Ransacia. It is based in the south of the nation and is connected to the Ransacian Sea. It is a hub for shipping goods and commerce. It is the headquarters of the parliament, the military and the Royal Family. The city is home to humans, elves and a small group of dwarves. It is a walled castle city and also contains the Demeterson Mansion, which is the main HQ for the Guild of Shadows.

Demographics

The distribution of the population isn’t based on species or ethnic groups, although it is based on wealth classes. The poorer people live closer to the city gates, while wealthier individuals live closer to the Royal Family’s castle.

Government

The city is run by the Mayoral Council, who make most of the decisions for the city. Taxation of individuals is based on their income and current wealth, if you are poorer, you are taxed less, if you are richer, you are taxed more. The law is enforced by the local police.

Defences

The defenses of Fionsic are top of the line with soldiers on guard at the wall of the city, there are spots for cannons in the wall, there are soldiers patrolling the streets, as well as police officers, and of course, the Navy shipyard for defending from a naval invasion. On the wall, there is a tower every few hundred meters with higher concentrations of guards than on the rest of the wall. The bridge out to the Demeterson estate can be raised and lowers at will.

Industry & Trade

Fionsic is flourishing with commerce and trade. There are many permanent shops as well as temporary stands and markets, as well as the permanent food market. The inhabitants of Fionsic have many different professions, they may work in a smithy, a building site, in a mine, in a shop selling clothes, spices and other goods. One of the main exports of Fionsic is gravistone, a gravity defying rock that can make things float in the air, which has led to new military technology, such as the Airship, which is much like a regular ship of the line, but it flies, only 5 have been made by the Ransacian government and they plan to make more for complete naval domination. Another large export is coal, which is depended on by almost everyone for warmth and cooking, but is also used in smithies. Fionsic has no farms, which is why there is a permanent food market, it is used by everyone and is often packed with people. Farmers from outside the city come in to sell there food that they have farmed, and food is also imported from different nations.

Infrastructure

There are many different infrastructural sites in Fionsic. There is the watermill by the Fionsic River, the sewage system underneath the city was recently built, roads connect the entire city together, a bridge that goes out to the Demeterson estate, a Navy shipyard and a public one used for docking private boats and ships carrying goods.

Guilds and Factions

The Royal Family: The family of the ruling monarch. The Guild of Shadows: An organisation who want to bring peace through free will, and oppose the Yuonin, who believe that world domination will bring about peace.

Architecture

The architecture of the city differs through the different districts. In the poorer districts, the houses are made of wood, wattle and daub, and some are made of stone bricks, whereas the wealthier districts are made of cement and stone bricks, for a more stable infrastructure, and also often quite larger than the poorer houses.

Geography

The city, as mentioned before is connect to the Fionsic River and Ransacian Sea and the terrain is a plain with some slight hills, although the actual city has flattened it out quite a bit and the Demeterson estate is a forest area.

Natural Resources

As mentioned before, Fionsic’s two main exports are gravistone and coal. The city was home to  many flocks of sheep in the past and breeders have kept them alive, meaning the city also supplies itself with wool. The Demeterson estate also supplies wood to the city.
