The North Wind, The Purifying Wind
It is said that Suicune travels the land upon the North Wind, purifying and ensuring that the land's water stays pristine. That, and it is also believed to have the ability to walk across water. Those who have claimed to have seen this divine beast say that they saw a flash of blue racing across grasslands, followed by a strong surge of wind. Some speculate that Suicune has some control over the wind, or perhaps the wind becomes stronger in its presence.
To aid in Suicune's duty, people will leave food or other offerings when the wind blows from the North.
The Day of Cleansing
Also known as "Cleansing Day" for short. It's a day dedicated to "cleansing oneself." People like to drink only water and fruits on this day, the most popular being watermelon. Lum Berries are also a popular food on this day due to their ability to cure ailments.
People will also leave out decorative water basins filled with water from nearby lakes or rivers. They say if your water basin stays clean and clear until the end of Cleansing Day, you will be blessed with good luck. However, if you're basin ends up being filled with rubbish, you will have bad luck.
People will also leave offerings at the edge of lakes. These offerings are usually food, whether it be dishes or raw ingredients picked from gardens or fields. This is to give thanks to Suicune and to provide sustenance so that they may have the energy to continue purifying the waters of the land.
Leading up to Cleansing Day, people will decorate their homes with certain objects associated with Suicune, such as pinwheels, chimes, and other wind-based motifs.
