The Cabal
Who are the Cabal
The Cabal was formed in 1020 on day 16 of Nuklea.
They are not centrally organised but have financial backers who pull the strings. Most of their crimes are hate-driven and seething chaos into an already "free" town brings them joy. Their acts of terrorism are mostly swept under the rug. Recently their voodoo hunts have gone out of hand and cases where murder is present are becoming more and more common.
How to recognise a member
To become a fully fledged member, they steal a shrunken head and pierce with a small decorative knife. Typically carried around the waist or as a pendant around their neck. They don't try to hide it.Common Targets
Poor people are their favoured target as well as esteemed voodoo practitioners who can do little to defend themselves. Whole houses in the outskirts even on different islands have been burned to the ground, robbed, families raped and murdered in cold blood.
Agenda
They seek usurpation of property by using violence as a tool of chaos. Some of the Cabal are former priests who have been excomunicated from their religions and vent their furry on the Nassians.Is it a Civil war yet
Perspective of the Nassians
A man carrying the symbol of the stabbed vodoo is not welcome anymore, anywhere for any reason. Toleration they recieve provided by establishments owned by neutral foreigners disgust Nassians.Perspective of the Cabal
Their utter disrespect and lack of acknowledgement toward the founder of the city is summarised in this quote:A Nassian is as worth as much a horse is with 4 broken legs
Fights
- Bar fights where Nassians gang up on Cabal and vice versa are incredibly common these days. Tavern keepers have now hired guards to disolve such conflicts, but that doesn't stop them from happening outside.
- In crooked streets of Nassau occasionaly lay, beaten to death corpses of both factions.
- Injuries from consealed arms such as shanks, darts and shards of glass are often found on the bodies.
