As an expert of infiltration, William initially earned his living as a master burglar. He was caught by Alexus Westinghouse around the year 413 and initially kept as a prisoner on a boat. He was eventually given a second chance by Alexus Westinghouse to help with the founding of Algor.
In 428, when The Guardians attacked Algor he was out on patrol with the party. He received a magical message from Robert Burns informing him that Alexus Westinghouse had been killed in the attack and that he should try to flee with the party to safety. When @[Red] offered to help the party escape in exchange for himself as payment, he agreed. @[Red] gave him a small vial of liquid which, when drunk, caused his body to shrivel up and die. @[Red] then took his still living head and told the party to come and speak to @[Grandmother]
