Western Desert

Geography

The Western Desert, also known as Vatash in the local tongue, is one of two major deserts on the Western Continent. It is bordered by the coast to the west, the Hills to the north and east, and the Southern Desert to the south.

Politics

There is no dominant political entity in the Western Desert, each settlement rules itself. Most often a town will be governed by the Judge. The Judge naturally steps into the position by showing the most prowess and will in defending his city or village, he or she is accompanied by brothers and sisters who are men- and women-at-arms who assist the Judge in resolving disputes and defending their town.
The Western Desert is not known to have had any large scale conflicts in the past. Most aggression happens in the form of skirmishes and raids.

Architecture

Buildings in the Western Desert are made of sandstone or white-painted clay. Due to the low population density most buildings do not rise higher than the first or ground floor. In Olon'tak you might see buildings 3 or 4 stories tall.
