Gender and Attraction

Gender

Gender is treated nonchalantly. People introduce themselves with their pronouns when they first meet someone new for example; "Hi, I'm he, Koijea." If one doesn't announce their pronouns, it's considered polite to call them any pronoun. Common pronouns include she, he, e, and ze. People present as they want to; clothes, hairstyles, jewelry, and other things aren't gendered and it's considered normal for anyone to use them. Pronouns aren't presumed based on physical characteristics and dressing habits. Advanced medicine and technology makes for easy modifications of reproductive systems and body shape if people wish it.

It's normal for someone's gender to change over time, especially when people are young. Teenagers and kids are often testing out different identities at the time to see what they're most comfortable with, which can lead to many pronoun changes during this time. It's treated the same way someone might try on a new clothing style; with encouragement. Knowing someone's exact gender identity is not considered necessary and is more of a fun fact to know of them, as it doesn't matter much past pronouns.

Gender Presentation

There are three distinct types of gender presentation; masculine, feminine, and androgynous. Depending on one's identity, this may change often or not at all. Presenting as masculine does not necessarily mean you are a man, and presenting as feminine does not mean you are a woman, which is why pronouns are used. Roles in society aren't based on one's gender and more on one's capabilities, so no job is overflowing with one gender or another.

Attraction

There are different types of attraction, which include sexual attraction, romantic attraction, and platonic attraction. Sexual attraction indicates how someone feels about having sex and who they are attracted to in regards to this. Romantic attraction is how someone feels about having a romantic relationship and their preferred partner. Platonic attraction is how someone feels about having a friendship with someone. All three do not necessarily have to align, though sexual and romantic attraction often do. Attraction is often complicated and nuanced. These identities were only created in order to sort people into groups, and they're often treated merely as another fact to know about them, like a birthday, instead of a big deal.

The following is a simple list of types of ways one can experience different types of attractions. The term can end with sexual, romantic, or platonic. X stands for any of the three types of attractions.

  • Non--: Not X attracted to others and will not have X relationships.
