Red Iris Militia

In the immediate aftermaths of the fall of Unazan Gazar, the poorer Hintadu villages have started to receive visits from groups of soldiers, mostly war veterans, under the insignita of the Red Iris. Nobody knows exactly were they come from and investigating their intentions is not a good idea because they don't like nosy people. The most notable member of the militia to make public apparition answers to the name and rank of Lieutenant Shield.

 

The symbol

 

A patrol of the Red Iris militia will usually carry around the standard of the Red Iris, a black pennant with a red flower embroidered. Enquiries about the meaning of the symbol or about the Red Iris itself are usually answered aggressively, but it appears that the soldiers have made reference about the Red Iris as a commander or leader.

 

Public Agenda

 

The militia has been showing up in several of the poorest villages in the dry areas surrounding the metropolitan area of Unazan Gazar looking for strong young men to enrol in the militia. Their offer can be considered quite generous, especially compared to that of the slave traders, and for large families struggling to feed their mouths, there is no point in refusing it. The highest person in command, usually Lieutenant Shield, will present a contract written in rather cryptic language, making it clear, however, that the enlistment is for life, and once signed he will mark it with the Iris seal.

 
I am very concerned about those brutes of the Red Iris militia, they are loaded and have appeared from nowhere getting the best of our new generations, no one ever returns... One of my neighbours enquiried about where his son would brought and to do what, they kicked his chest replying that it wasn't his business... A few weeks later he suddenly disapperead...
