The Dawn of Humanity

Humanity was not always present in the world of Periva. In fact, it was not until more than a century had passed that the first humans appeared in Periva. One day, a cave opened in the side of a mountain, and from it emerged the first Perivan humans. They were few in number, all young and somewhat weaker than the other races, yet they had a strength of will and determination, and they seemed to have wisdom and experience well beyond their years. This was because these first humans were inhabited by what we now know as The Awakened, and they came into the world of Periva with memories and personalities carried over from past lives, though these past lives were in a previously unheard-of world known as Earth, where humanity was the dominant species, and in which none of the other species had ever been seen before.   When Humanity first emerged from the cave and into the world of Periva, they were initially seen as a pest, a weaker race compared to the other races of Periva. They lived comparatively shorter lives, reproduced quickly, and spread swiftly to other lands, bringing with them strange beliefs and customs that were unlike any seen before in Periva. Some races viewed them with indifference, some with distrust, and some with outright malice, though none seemed to embrace them as equals. In some places, humans were actually enslaved and used for hard labor. For this reason, life was quite challenging for the first humans in Periva.   However, in time, the humans gained a foothold and grew stronger, and they eventually liberated themselves from their oppressors during The Human Uprising, which culminated in 1E-126. Since then, the humans have grown to be respected and even embraced by many of Periva's races and cultures, though many still view them with distrust.
