Phase shifting

Phase shifting is a form of tangibility control. Tangibility control can be used to render physical objects tangible or intangible or reverse this operation at will. Phase shifting relies on exceptionally high technology that manipulates the electron orbitals of atoms themselves, allowing two objects to pass very close to through each other without their atomic nuclei impacting. At a macroscopic scale, it appears as if the target object simply becomes a phantom, passing effortlessly through solid objects. Phase shifting even allows for control over what can and cannot touch the target, allowing it to interact with the earth instead of falling into the planet even while stepping through walls.
