Altiths
Basic Information
Anatomy
Humanoid tripod species. Chitin exoskeleton with off-white and translucent black portions. Internal structures unknown due to inhospitable nature of their preferred environment.
Biological Traits
Species has not been studied in depth but appears to be biologically immortal in some manner, with individual instances being noted repeatedly over the course of history with no outward signs of aging. Disproportionately long limbs relative to torso, with their legs comprising around 65% of their height (330 m tall based on average) and their arms being around 114% the length of their torso from wrist to shoulder (200 m). Limbs feature traditional single joints in approximate middle of limb's length, including all three legs. Each arm ends directly in three opposable digits roughly comparable to fingers. Each leg ends in a trio of chitin spines primarily used for gripping ground.
Genetics and Reproduction
Completely unknown. Genetic material seems to be nonsensical and produces nothing at all when sequenced, and documenting the species' reproductive cycle has been conspicuously impossible.
Ecology and Habitats
Species lives on the frozen world of Thembarius, which exists at temperatures around 75 K (-198 °C). They live in the mountainous regions across the planet, generally wherever snow or ice is found.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Species feeds on any gases in the atmosphere which are capable of condensing, meaning that they primarily consume clouds. They do so by reaching upwards from a high point and letting their immense height assist them.
Additional Information
Facial characteristics
Cyclops eye in otherwise featureless face. Two large, straight horns protruding from sides of head.
Lifespan
Unknown, but observed to be multiple millennia
Average Height
500 meters
Average Weight
~800,000 kg
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Primarily white with a slight grey tinge. Some parts of body, such as fingers, tinged blue. Apparently random distribution of translucent black segments of chitin.
