Basic Information

Anatomy

Iteys are essentially one huge nervous system as electrical signals are conveyed and interpreted by the largest source of neural activity (i.e. the brain). An itey's system is much like any carbon-based lifeform in that it relays signals which can then tell the creature of the immediate world around it.
A rough sheath covers the entirety of the body to ensure protection from the elements like a type of skin and muscles and providing for metabolism. It also accounts for resistance to physical trauma as even the slightest of damage will compromise its entire movement.

Instantaneous Reaction

The rapid sensitivity of the nerves and the lack of excessive body mass automatically allows for signals to traverse the body from stimulus to brain quickly.

Genetics and Reproduction

They require a semi-intelligent host to incubate their young for purposes of reproduction.
Their tendrils come into contact with victim neurons and alter them based on its own physiology and neural patterns. Or it would just straight destroy the cells. That is, the infected person's brain (or brain equivalent) would radically divide and surrounding neurons would change how they operate to the point where only the nerves can survive.

The head hung from the belly, its spine wrapped around its legs and the tips of its limbs were in the victims ears.

Parts of the victim's parotid membrane are destroyed as the tentacled limb shocks them with 150 mV. During which there is brief period where predator and prey share knowledge of a genetic nature with each other.
Physical contact with an itey causes necrotic spots to appear on the skin, hair and teeth will fall out, vision deteriorates and a massive headache are all consequences of decomposing alive.

Ecology and Habitats

Zero-Gravity Environment

Itey lack much of the structural support and contractable muscles that allow other species to exist in a variety of environments. The physical support of water, for example, makes it more capable of movement from the actual supporting pressure taking the weight off the body and stretching out like a jellyfish.

As close as can be imagined, certain chemicals are needed to stabilize their brain functions and specialized cells.

Itey, today, are generally docile and compliant as shown by purposefully lowing its neutral activity.

Social Structure

Communal Clans

Groups of itey are united by an actual or perceived descent from a founding member or apical ancestor. These clans tend to radiate out to the outer shell of Blue Eye, but they tend to conjugate into larger tribes closer to it's center.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Blue Eye

A hollow snowball-like structure that is the result of the temperature differentials from the surrounding Titan's Path. Everything from their structures to their conveniences appear as though to have been carved from ice. Possibly reinforced and enhanced with hafa crystals.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Electron Sensor

An itey's aura specially manifests as a semi-permeable bubble. With their outstretched appendages marking the inner boundaries and from where they can project the typical dignitas powers.
It is also from this dignitic bubble that they can ignore the coldness surrounding their home; claiming to feel no temperature at all.

Average Technological Level

Crystal Forging

Itey are intelligent creatures capable of many things including the most advance medicine and technologies.
Though they are viewed with suspicion, if not outright hatred, by the rest of the Crescent; their inclusion was considered militarily necessary to collective defense. Even today, no one can replicate their abilities to manipulate hafa into the most sought after devices.

For short distances, itey in physical contact with one another are able to communicate mind to mind.

For long distances, itey employ a complicated system of bodily bobs, twists, turns and crossings to communicate.

Debt of Gratitude

Appreciations incurred on the individual or communal level last for as long as the parties endure. It is a system of reciprocity that is applicable even in events where one side commits to an action that is unknowingly favorable to an itey group.

Historical Figures

Memory Mother

She is a pre-skeleton war itey cursed (or blessed) to reside within a timeloopuntil the end of time. Every 24 hours, no matter what had happened before, she would come through a certain doorway inside the Memory Palace and say: "I know what I did was unforgivable" before realizing something was wrong.

Common Myths and Legends

Skeleton War

During the itey had sided with the Penga and were way more aggressive compared to how they are now. Their opportunistic ancestors contributed a well of tech that aided the conquests to the penga's satisfaction, who bestowed favours in return.

Palace of Memories

A mighty cavernous area the size of a planet that lies at the core of Blue Eyes.

Imaginary Monsters

Non-existent creatures intertwined in the unstable reality fabric that surrounds Blue Eye.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Pariah Species

Because of their reproductive necessities, many other intelligent species regard the itey with a degree of fear. Fear of being forcibly taken and infected with their brood and disgust of the rumoured 'farm animals' they keep for this purpose.
