Death Chaser
A death chaser is a person who actively seeks out dangerous or life-threatening situations for the thrill or rush of adrenaline. This can take many forms, such as engaging in extreme sports, participating in high-risk activities or even seeking out dangerous or volatile environments.
Appointment
Anyone can just choose to become a chaser but such a proclaimation would be viewed with the same indifference as a casual browser. The death chaser would be recognized with renown, once they had completed some death defying mission.
Coincidentally, someone can be inadvertently be declared a death chaser because death appears to be chasing them.
When rolling a death saving throw, you can choose to do so with disadvantage. If you roll a natural 20 on either of the rolls, but still fail the saving throw, treat it as a normal success, instead of a failure.
However, on a success, treat the death saving throw as a natural 20; no matter what the roll was.
Once this feature is used, it cannot be used again until the end of a short or long rest.
Benefits
There is no institution that supports neither new death chasers or veterans. Material gain only becomes a factor once they have achieved a certain level of fame and can sponsor products and services. Not quite unlike other sportsmen.
History
Test Theater
It can be forensically verified that the thetíans were the ones who had create the term to describe their most extroverted amongst them. It was attributed to the most daring who first stepped into Test and experimented with its limitations. This was during a time when the whole of Taurus was in fear of Pearl traps resetting the system. They are seen as being incredibly brave. Acting like remote probes to check and see whether or not it was safe. In this regard, they might even be considered the founders of Blasto.Cultural Significance
Exploration
It's entirely possible that some ephemeral just heard the term and thought they liked it.For the rest of the non-digital humanity, a death chaser is a type of extreme explorer. Indeed, that is what it has come to mean in most circumstances. In others, it might be considered as someone seeking extreme entertainment like in jousting or maw sailing.

The Opal Opener
It is difficult to say for certain if Maddox was truly the first 'death chaser' among humanity given the inherent temporal confusion in his log. But his exploits have been given the most advertisement throughout the light lattice. Generally, who might be considered the 'first' is partially dependent on whether or not one considers a 'digital death' to be valid or not.

I liked this concept and thought it would make for some interesting storytelling, and it supports the story of your world seamlessly. I would have liked to have understood the underlying drive for death chasers who are hosted in electronic format - there's no underlying chemistry there to push towards reckless self-endangerment as there is with biologically based life forms (adrenaline junkies). I encourage you to work on this some more to add visual appeal and polish the writing - it has real potential.
