Afóntas-Sindis Amnesia

A drug-induced state of disassociation of consciousness.

Imagine your consciousness taking a break for a while and becoming an idle observer, as your body is inhabited by some convulsive and automatic mockup version of it. I don't know the science behind it, but I can tell you that you certainly don't want to be forced into that state while doing anything more demanding than sitting in a room made out of soft feathers. Your brain goes haywire and so does your body, it's an easy recipe for disaster.
Abigail Hofnick, traveller and writer

The Afóntas-Sindis Amnesia, also known as "Afodis depersonification", is a temporary drug-induced medical condition, which makes the affected unable to control the actions of his body. Consciousness is retained during the process, but due to its repression, it appears to the external world as if the individual has lost any notions of memory and sanity. It takes its name from the drug itself and the certain similarity to a typical brain damage amnesia.

Causes

The condition is the effect of the drug from which it derives its name - Afóntas-Sindis. Due to its half-arcane, half-chemical creation process, it possesses unnatural properties which make the condition feasible. The effect is two-fold - first, the chemical reaches the brain and reacts with the tissue of a brain structure known as the claustrum, believed to be an integral part of mortal consciousness, effectively compromising its function. Second, the arcane aspect of the drug "kicks out" the paralyzed consciousness and allows the individual to perceive reality as if they were spectating themselves, rather than actually being in control.

Symptoms

The only symptoms which occur, happen directly before the condition puts the individual's consciousness into a passive observer state. It is that the person will feel sudden dizziness and then experience growing twitches of the limbs. After around a two minutes of such symptoms, the body will enter into its automatic state and begin to uncontrollably spasm as the person's consciousness leaves it.
The one positive thing about this whole thing is that the drug is quite hard to come by, so it's quite a rare situation to have to deal with its effects. But if you happen to be unfortunate enough to have a case of its effects on someone close, remember - the chemical isn't deadly, its the uncontrollable spasms that can accidentally hurt or even kill the person. The drug is made to intimidate and scare into submission, not kill their brain. If you don't have an arcane medic to treat them, pin them and tie them up, so they can't hurt themselves.
Dr. Gebhardt den Rein on how to behave with an affected individual

Treatment

The only known treatment is an arcane move which can force the consciousness back into the body. This stops the spasms, however, due to the forceful reintroduction into the still chemically affected brain, it will still make the individual paralyzed for at least several hours.
