Adelheid von Behringer was a famous Verfandian traveller, extreme mountain climber, writer and orologist, who lived from 2742 to 2831. She is known most for her "Northern Journey", which spanned 30 years of her life and brought about her three greatest successes - being the first to visit and describe all islands of the Wesinger Chain in a single consecutive expedition, first to reach the very north pole of Aon and the final, crowning jewel of her career - scaling Mount Empyrean. She wrote a book about her adventures and discoveries titled "The Northern Journey - voyage to uncover the unknown".

Adelheid often described herself as a person driven by nature, with a simple desire of not letting her life pass by idly. The thrill of danger and unknown was her domain and she had an unquenchable need for it. From family accounts, this vision of her driving motivation is strongly reinforced, as she is said to have never been complacent if remaining in one place, something that stayed with her all the way to the end.
