Pandemonium

Embrace Chaos

Pandemonium is a vast, chaotic demiplane and the realm of the incubus god Pandemonius and a final resting place for the underdark denizens that worship the deity on either a cultural or personal level- replacing the empire of the vanquished goddess Velevana.
In many ways, it is similar to the Abyss on a smaller scale, sharing planar traits with the demon god's land of origin, but in other aspects they differ greatly. Though Pandemonium is teeming with souls, it appears much emptier than the Abyss, instilling both a unique sense of intimacy among groups and a distinct, unsettling feeling of isolation when alone that cannot be experienced in any of the outer planes' varied regions.

History

The plane was once the realm of the wicked goddess Velevana, home to the Mother of Malice and her twisted minions. It was also the final stop for the souls of many drow, who were relagated either to a torturous existence or a position of power under the Spider Queen herself.
Upon her death, the souls that weren't destroyed in the process were freed, scattering throughout various other planes as they sought new after-lives or fulfilled other post-death obligations. Most of her hideous minions either perished or moved on, and the few that remained were left with the chaotic remnants of a mostly-empty plane.
It was after her defeat that the incubus Pandemonius, left to his own devices, began to harness the residual power from Velevana's corpse and the chaotic environment, growing in power and elevating himself to deity status. He renamed the plane Pandemonium, redifining it and claiming it as his own.
