Personal history

Cricket was once a slave in Jamison, a hidden town of slavers in the Blackwater Swamps. Born to an illiterate mother named Melody, Cricket and their family were nothing more than a potential profit for their master. Cricket was the eldest of her brood and sold off long before their siblings could form any memories of them. They were purchased by Yasir to serve as a doorman to the shanty town that he frequented. Yasir often made them the target of his frustrations, physically abusing them and leaving them to starve some days. When lycans ambushed a nearby town in the forest, Yasir had led many down into the subterranean shanty town for safety, but made no effort to hide his disgust for the child under his care.   Jordeira Ferus and Lucky Kociak decided to rescue Cricket to give them a better life. They were hidden beneath Jordeira's cloak and brought to a warm, safe place to call home. Even after a decade, Cricket struggles both mentally and physically due to being tormented in their formative years. They suffer from a traumatic brain injury that makes it difficult for them to retain knowledge, which leaves their ability to communicate with others stunted. Cricket is very attached to Lucky, seeing them as a "safe place" when the world frightens or overwhelms them.   When they're away from Necropolis with Jordeira, Cricket is left under the care of Ms. Pepperpot. They love to help out with the gardening efforts in the town, and while they tend to make a bigger mess than everyone else, the other residents of Necropolis adore the little kenku.
