Parlance Parrot
The parlance parrot, also known as the paradise parrot and the sunrise parrot, is a working bird native to the tropics and subtropics. It gets the name "parlance parrot" for its excellent skills at mimicry, while its other two names refer to its geographic origin and its coloring respectively.

Anatomy
Like most birds, the parlance parrot has an axial, lightweight skeleton optimized for flying and capable of withstanding the resistance of g-force. It possesses a curved beak and have four-toed, zygodactyl feet that are excellent for grasping and climbing. Its broad, pointed wings allow it to soar great distances. It has tetrachromatic eyesight that allows it to see in the ultraviolet spectrum.
Its enlarged syrinx and specialized muscles and membranes allow it to mimic sound, tone, and pitch with impressive accuracy.

This bird is very popular throughout the tropics, subtropics, and temperate regions for its usage in mundane long distance communication. Its natural navigational abilities along with its superb capability at mimicry make it the perfect animal for delivering non-urgent messages or information far away. It is especially popular on ships, seeing frequent use by merchants, sailors, and pirates to communicate with each other or make short reports to governing bodies.
In some regions usage of the parlance parrot is heavily monitored. Citizens may be be required to register their parlance parrots locally or regionally to ensure that they aren't be used as a means of conveying information between spies, pirates, or invaders.
